Daniel F. Keane

President & CEO

For almost 50 years, Mr. Keane has held numerous leadership positions in both professional and civic organizations. Beginning in 1971, after graduating from Georgetown University, Mr. Keane took a position with Frank B. Hall & Co., a large international insurance brokerage firm in New York City and started his career.

After spending 10 years in NYC with Hall, Mr. Keane returned to Fairfield to take over his family’s insurance business. In 1998 and after acquiring twelve (12) insurance firms, he sold his business to what is now HUB International. In 2003, Mr. Keane created ACBI Insurance and presided over its growth from a one person agency located over a travel agency in Southport, Connecticut to one of the largest independently owned insurance firms in the state. Providing protection to small and medium sized businesses and high net worth individuals and families, ACBI is known throughout Connecticut as a premier insurance brokerage firm.

Mr. Keane built ACBI by hiring smart people and educating and offering clients a wide range of insurance products and services while instilling in ACBI employees the need to give back to the communities in which we live and do business. Through participation and leadership roles in local and regional non profits and civic organizations, Mr. Keane and his team have understood the success of ACBI Insurance has always been dependent on the financial health and well being of our local communities and state.

In 2020, our success culminated in ACBI Insurance becoming a partner with Cross Insurance of Bangor, Maine completing its journey from the one room office over the travel agency in Southport to the largest independent insurance firm in New England. Our best days are ahead and ACBI will continue to protect thousands of clients and friends with quality products and services, integrity and honesty, and the support of more than 40 offices throughout the Northeast.

Mr. Keane lives with his wife, Teale, of 45 years in Fairfield, Connecticut and enjoys playing golf and spending special time with his 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
